You need to have the Sony Vegas Preset Manager in order to install the film looks. The Preset Manager is a free utility provided by Sony for this purpose. If you haven't already done so, you can download it from [this page] or click [here] for the direct download link for 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7.
1. INSTALLATION
Following purchase, click on the download link you have received and save the ZIP file containing the Film Looks to your hard drive.
Extract the contents of the ZIP file (for example, by right-clicking on the file and selecting "Extract All" or by using your favourite decompressing software.

Open the Preset Manager
Select File > Open and find the file you have just downloaded and extracted. It will be called film_looks.sfpreset or, if it is an individual film look, it will be called something like blue_rinse.sfpreset. If you have purchased more than one file, select all and click "Open".
In the top left pane of the Preset Manager window, click on the file(s) that you want to install.
Select Edit > Copy To System. Your film looks will now be installed on your system
2. HOW TO USE
Open up Sony Vegas Pro and add a video clip to your time line.
Click on the cross at the right-hand end of your clip (use the + and - buttons to make sure that you have zoomed in on the time line enough so that the cross is visible.
In the "Plugin Chooser" window that opens, click on FX and then Filter Packages if the list of Film Look presets isn't already displaying in the right-hand pane.
Select required Film Look and Click "OK". Your film look will now be applied to your clip.
Click again on the cross (now green) on your timeline clip to open up the Video Event FX window to adjust the settings of your Film Looks. In particular, it is important that you adjust the Brightness & Contrast or Color Curve settings to suit your individual clip.
